Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas girls!! I know that I suck for failing to send out cards this year. I had every intention of doing so...I even bought the cutest cards, but I forgot my address book at home. I love and miss all of you, and I hope that everyone has an amazing Christmas. Say hello to your families. I will talk to you soon <3

FUCK
Sorry. I'm just pissed off at CANCER. STOP KILLING MY FAMILY.

My grandpa has prostate cancer which is probably treatable with the chemo. He's gonna have 40-some treatments as of now. My grandma (other side of the fam) has breast cancer and with her Parkinson's they're not gonna be able to do much. My aunt Adrianne has ovarian cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs so they can't treat that and they gave her about a month. My other grandma is coughing blood and thinks it's bronchial cancer. Hopefully she's just paranoid. If she actually has cancer I am going to lose it.

Hello
Just wanted to say hello to everyone and send a "thank you" for all the birthday wishes. I hope everyone is doing well. Things are good here. Chris and I are both keeping busy with work and wedding planning. The time is flying by so fast, I can hardly believe that the big day is less than 6 months away. Speaking of which, I was wondering if you ladies would be interested in helping me with some things. I am in need of some assistance with decorating the reception hall the night before, the guest book, handing out bubbles as guests exit the church, and of course all of those little details on the big day (ie: taking pew decorations off at the church, making sure things are okay at the reception hall before everyone arrives, etc.) If anyone is interested in lending a hand I would greatly appreciate it. The other thing I wanted to mention is possibly having a Nomad get together. I would love to have everyone come down here, unfortunately I know the odds of that happening are slim. So, if anyone has any ideas, let me know. I miss all of you and I feel like it has been forever since we have been together. I will be in Scranton the first weekend in November. Chris and I are taking Friday off and driving up early, so if anyone is around I would love to see you. I would love to hear from you gals, so call, email, post, etc. Talk to you all soon!

Hello everyone! Things are going well here in Chambersburg. As ususal keeping busy with work and of course wedding plans! There are so many little things to think about besides the obvious big ones. Chris is doing well. He is still traveling 1-2 times per month for work. This month Ohio and Jersey are on the schedule. Other than that we are trying to be supportive of my brother. He is having a very hard time at college with football and classes. Please keep him in your thoughts that he will make the best decision for him. I hope everyone is doing well. Keep in touch!

Doc

P.S. Any ideas to try and get together sometime soon?

Update
Hi everyone,

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing pretty well--besides being stressed out. Things here are busy. Gram has had a lot of health problems this summer so between emergency room visits and hospital stays, we have kept busy. We almost lost her in June so we're all very happy with what recovery she's made. Poor Ray is such a good guy; I think all of this would drive me over the edge if he wasn't really so supportive and willing to help (even at 2am!). Otherwise, I am working at the University and taking classes. We are headed down to VA on the 26th for a few days for Ray to meet my extended family so I'm really excited and then in August we might get to go on a day trip if I have enough hours. So, I guess I'm just lucky and thankful and very, very emotional so far this summer. :) I hope everyone else is doing well and I can't wait to get together.

Love and miss,
Ooutar

4 more days
hey girls! i will be heading up to PA in 4 short days. my uncle charlie called and informed me that about 16 members of my family (4 of these i havent seen in 17 years--literally) are getting together to meet chris on sunday. i cant wait for my parents and brother and sister to meet him, but the whole family makes me nervous...i like this one and would like him to stick around. the only thing that bothers me about chris is that he has something against hot dog johnny's...he believes this place called hot dog heaven has the best hot dogs. needless to say i will be forcing him to try one on monday :) if any of you girls are available on wednesday the 25th let me know. i think i will be in scranton that day! besides being extremely stressed out, there isnt a whole lot going on with me. i love you all.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to see how everyone is doing. A little update on my end. Chris and I moved to a brand new 2 bed room 1.5 bath townhouse. Our new address is 362 Greenfield Court, Chambersburg PA 17201. We are super excited. Wedding plans are slowly coming along. We just went to the beach last week, we had a great time! Other than that it has been the same old thing day in and day out. I hope everything is going well for everyone else. I would love to hear updates on how the summer is going. Talk to you all soon!

I don't cry for Argentina--I'm Nomad deprived!
Hello my darling Nomads,

What is everyone doing on July 7th, 8th, 21st, or 22nd? Can we get together? Maybe we can go with whichever date most of us can get together--even for a few hours. I miss the Nomads.

Love,
Ooutar

P.S. I'm just throwing dates out there so we have something to work with...if another date would be ideal, throw it on out there. I'm not available at night because of my classes but my day work is flexible.

I miss the Nomads, too!
Hi Nomads,

I'm sorry I've been out of touch--things have been crazy around here. We went to Iceland a few weeks ago and had a great time but when we got back, Gram had stopped eating and drinking. So, the last few weeks have been filled with blood tests, rehydration, medication changes, and, most recently, a hospital stay. She came home today and she is not moving well and I'm really not exactly sure how to get her moving again on my own. Thankfully, I've had Ray to help me with everything. I have to say that his constant effort means more to me than flowers, chocolate, or even organic bananas. ;) Wink, wink.

Otherwise, things are pretty much the same. I'm starting classes next week and I've been offered work at the University for the summer so as soon as things get settled here, I will start that. I'm lucky that the University is so good to me. :)

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the nice weather. Hey, when can we get together this summer?

Love and miss,
Ooutar

random, yet exciting, assortment of stuff
first i would like to congratulate amanda on becoming the first nomad to grace iceland. i hope the trip was awesome!! you HAVE to send pictures and let me know how everything went. (i am still jealous) i also hope that your grandmother is feeling better. as soon as things calm down up there, give me a call to let me know.

now for my general update...i screwed up. i met this guy two months ago and thought it would be fun to hang out for the time i have left down here. well, being the spaz that i am, i fell in love with the man and am currently experiencing an 'oh, crap' type of feeling. for all of you girls that i haven't spoken to recently, chris is freakin amazing! the whole relationship has moved along pretty quickly (meeting the family on day two and all), but i have gotten over the freaked out feeling and have settled, quite comfortably, into just plain happy. he is so far past sweet that sometimes i just giggle in pure joy for hours. case in point- last night (last day of school) he calls me to see if he can take me to dinner. i agree and proceed to take a four hour nap. (the nap part is not important to the story except that i was having a pretty emotional day and didn't really want to do anything other than sleep.) so i wake up around 5 and chris calls to tell me that he hopes i am not mad but because he couldn't get a hold of me to see what i wanted to eat, he made reservations somewhere. i asked where and he insisted on keeping it a surprise, but told me to dress up a bit. i don't know if you guy have heard of this place (i hadn't until i moved here, but apparently they're everywhere)...we went to The Melting Pot. it is a crazy fancy fondue restaurant. this was by far the nicest (and most expensive) place i have ever eaten, and was plenty reason for me to stare at him adoringly all evening. however, the biggest suprise came during dessert...being very aware of my fruit allergy, chris called ahead to talk to the manager about what could be done about the fruits in the dessert tray...then he went out, bought organic pineapple and bananas, and managed to sneak them into the restaurant for them to cut up for our dessert tray. i will not lie...i cried. i had no idea any of this was happening. AHHHHH!!!!!!! i want you girls to meet him!!!

well, i am off to sit on the couch for hours...i love you girls

you wish i wished your mom stole them.

ps-i love you

pps- chris got me flowers and organic bananas for teacher appreciation day :) he just came from work and had his cop car. he asked for some help bringing up his stuff, because he can't leave his gun belt thingy in the car. so, i made fun of him for bringing so much stuff that he needed help carrying it all...ie-what, are you moving in? then he said, "hey, can you just grab the stuff off the front seat." i went to open the door and there were flowers on the seat :) he's so frickin sweet. for the record, i can officially eat organic bananas, organic apples, and organic oranges...we're experimenting.

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone. Just a little bit of an update on my part, I found the offical dress! If you want I can email you the pictures, just let me know. I was wondering if anyone gave it a thought any more about the next time we get together. I miss all of you! Chris and I are keeping busy. He is headed off to NYC next month for 4 days. He is traveling about twice a month now. My job is going well. Census is low right now, so not too much happening. We are slowly building back up. I hope all is well with everyone and their families. Keep in touch!

P.S. Amy-- Just wondering how your brother's surgery turned out.
